The latest Mark Text 0.12.20 (the version numbers don't exactly make sense in Mark Text - the previous version was 0.11.42) brings support for tabs as well as a sidebar that can display files as a tree or list:

Besides displaying currently open files or files in a project, the sidebar also provides a search in project feature or it can display the table of contents for the current file. From the sidebar you can also save or close all open files.

Also, if you add a folder to the sidebar, you'll find new options to add a new file or directory, cut / copy / paste, rename or move to trash.

Other improvements in Mark Text 0.12.20:

  • Added support for reference link and image
  • Added support for copying table to the context menu
  • Rewritten table picker
  • Fixed exporting table
  • Fixed full link copy not working
  • Fixed text cursor skipping lines in paragraph
